ODOT reports that snow plows were busy plowing and salting this morning after the snow fell quickly. Drivers are encouraged to SLOW DOWN and give the plows room to work.
The Ohio Department of Transportation reports the challenge with this storm is the freezing temperatures and strong winds. Througfh the morning, snow continued to fall - and despite the crews' efforts, with wind gusts averaging 35 miles per hour, snow is drifting across the roads and keeping them covered.
And yet, weather forecasters predict several snow squalls in the area this afternoon.

With temperatures well below freezing, ODOT mixes beet juice or calcium chloride with salt to make the salt more effective.
