American Legion Post 25 will join other Legionnaires around the nation in commemorating the 71st anniversary of the story of four Chaplains who were aboard the American Troop Ship U.S.S. Dorchester, when it was sunk by a German torpedo on February 3, 1943 during World War II.
On Sunday, February 2, 2014 The Fayette County Honor Guard, and members of all Veterans Posts in Fayette County, are invited to join the officers, members, Ladies Auxiliary members and sons of the American Legion Post 25, to the 10am worship service at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church at 733 St. Rt. 41 SW (Highland Ave.) in Fayette County.
The Rev. Gayle Hansen Brown, St. Andrew’s Vicar, says she is looking forward to the visit by local Veterans.
