Dylan Rose hit a three pointer at the horn in overtime to lead the Clinton Massie Falcons to a 56-53 win over the Hillsboro Indians Saturday in SCOL action.

The Falcons led at 1 point 36-24 in the 3rd quarter before Hillsboro slowly chipped away at the lead finally tying it at 43-43 at 1:40 left in the contest. With the game ending 45 each in regulation Jake McIntire opened up the extra period with a three point jumper for Clinton Massie to make it 48-45. Hillsboro Jordan Captain offensive rebound made it 48-47. Hillsboro though went cold from the field missing their next 5 field goal attempts while the Falcons went 4 of 6 from the charity stripe to take a 52-47 lead with 34 seconds left.

Alex Van Zant of Hillsboro three pointer made it 52-50. Then later on with 9 seconds left Indians Latrell Haithcock hit two free throws to tie the game at 52 each. In the next 6 seconds the officials whistles were busy calling fouls on both teams & both the Falcons & Indians would hit only 1 out of 2 free attempts making score 53 each with 2.6 seconds left. 

After a Clinton Massie timeout---a court long baseball throw was made to Falcons Cory Saddler who tossed the ball to the corner where Rose stripped the cords on a three pointer at the horn to give Massie the win. 

Clinton-Massie (4-1 overall/2-0 SCOL) had 4 players in double figures led by Jake McIntire with 15 points, Dylan Rose had 12 & Josh Loud & Zack Santoro had 11 points each. The Falcons shot 21 of 60 from the field including 7 of 24 from the three point line. In the overtime besides the two three pointers they were 5 of 12 from the charity stripe. They had 14 turnovers & had 32 rebounds.
Jordan Captain led Hillsboro (3-8 overall/0-5 SCOL) with a 17 point/20 rebound performance. Austin Bagshaw added 12 points in the losing effort that saw Hillsboro shot 16 of 59 from the field including 4 of 14 on three point shots. They were 14 of 24 from the charity stripe including 3 of 4 in the overtime period.  They had 41 rebounds including 14 offensively. The Indians finished with 14 turnovers.in the game.
Clinton Massie returns to action  Tuesday night hosting Waynesville in a non conference contest while Hillsboro will travel to East Clinton.
