District 9 Weekly Travel Report

 

 

For the week ending May 8, 2015: The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system within ODOT District 9. For statewide information regarding road conditions affected by weather, construction, maintenance or accidents, visit ODOT on the web at www.Ohgo.com

DISTRICTWIDE A striping project is under way, and crews will be applying pavement markings on various routes throughout the eight-county region as weather permits. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers and arrow boards when crews are at work. (#14-1084)

A guardrail replacement is under way and crews will be installing guardrail on various routes throughout the eight-county region as weather permits. Traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals and flaggers when crews are at work. (#15-0026)

A herbicidal spraying project is under way on various routes throughout the district, and traffic is being maintained by flaggers and arrow boards when crews are at work. (#14-1097)

A raised pavement marker project is scheduled to begin the week of May 11. Crews will be installing RPMs on various routes throughout the district as weather permits. Traffic will be maintained on affected routes in one lane with the use of flaggers and arrow boards. (#15-1016)

ADAMS COUNTY

There are no lane restrictions or closures on the state highway system due to construction projects.

BROWN COUNTY

A culvert repair project is under way on S.R. 41, where crews are installing liner in two culverts located approximately one mile north of U.S. 52 at Aberdeen. Throughout the project, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. The project is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#14-0573)

A resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 68 and U.S. 52. Crews will be paving U.S. 52 from the western corporation limit of Higginsport to just east of T.R. 255 (Pisgah Hill Road) and between Main and Hanover streets in Ripley. Crews will also be paving U.S. 68 from U.S. 50 to the Brown-Clermont County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained with the use of flaggers when crews are at work. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer. (#14-0471)

Fayette County

Camp Grove Road from Braden to Washington Good Hope will be closed until 5/8/15 for Culvert Replacement.

HIGHLAND COUNTY

A resurfacing and bridge repair project is under way on S.R. 28. Operations will extend from the Clinton County line to the east corporation limit of Leesburg. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early fall. (#14-0508)

A resurfacing project is under way on S.R. 138, and crews will be paving the route between T.R. 288 (Rittenhouse Road) and S.R. 753 (Seventh Street) in the village of Greenfield. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early fall. (#14-0546)

Construction is under way to improve and extend Hobart Drive from its junction with U.S. 62 to S.R. 73 at Hillsboro. Currently, two-way traffic is being maintained on affected routes, including S.R. 73, Harry Sauner Road and U.S. 62. With an interim completion of September 30, 2015 for Phase 1, the entire project is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2016. (#15-8003)

S.R. 247 is closed approximately one mile south of Hillsboro and north of T.R. 268 (Green Road) for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 785 and S.R. 73. All work is scheduled to be completed in early summer. (#15-0068)

S.R. 753 is closed between T.R. 357 (Rupple Road) and T.R. 360 (Titus Road), approximately one mile south of Greenfield, for a bridge replacement project. Throughout construction, traffic will be detoured via U.S. 50, S.R. 41 and S.R. 28. (#14-0478)

C.R. 11 (Bridges Road) is closed at the 17.43-mile marker, just north of S.R. 771, for a bridge replacement project. While the route is closed, traffic will be detoured via C.R. 44 (Centerfield Road), C.R. 15 (Monroe Road) and S.R. 771. (#14-0348)

MONDAY, MAY 4: As part of a dual bridge replacement project on C.R. 11, Bridges Road will be closed at the 16.76-mile marker, just south of its intersection with S.R. 771, for a bridge replacement and relocation improvement at C.R. 48 (Grimsley Road). Motorists will be detoured via Grimsley Road, Old U.S. 62, U.S. 62, Fairfield Road and S.R. 771. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall. (#14-0348)

JACKSON COUNTY

S.R. 327 is closed for a rock excavation and slide repair project. The project site is located just south of T.R. 207 (Woodrow Hale Road) and approximately two miles south of the Vinton County line. Throughout construction, the route will be subject to a 60-day closure, and motorists will be detoured via U.S. 50, S.R. 683 and S.R. 93. (#14-0571)

Operations for a grade separation project at U.S. 35 and C.R. 9 (Keystone Furnace Road) continue. Traffic impacts on U.S. 35 are minimal, and traffic is being maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction on the mainline route. Motorists are advised to use additional caution in the work zone. The project is scheduled to be completed by early summer of 2015. (#14-0140)

As part of the U.S. 35/C.R. 9 project, Acey Avenue has been closed for its relocation and roundabout construction at McCarty Lane. Motorists to Acey Avenue will be detoured via Industry Drive and the new C.R. 9 overpass. All work is anticipated to be completed in early summer of 2015.

LAWRENCE COUNTY

MAY 4 – MAY 8: S.R. 217 will be reduced to one lane 15.6-mile marker, between C.R. 12 (Big Paddy Creek Road) and C.R. 73 (Federal Creek Road), for a drilled shaft/slide repair project. Throughout the week, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers when crews are at work. MONDAY, MAY 11: S.R. 93 will be reduced to one lane for a slide repair at C.R. 40 (Brady Fork Road) and approximately 3.5 miles south of the Jackson County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary traffic signals. All work should be completed by early summer. (#15-0111)

A bridge replacement project continues on S.R. 7 at the Indian Guyan Creek bridge, just west of Proctorville. Traffic is being maintained in one, 11-foot lane with temporary traffic signals. (#14-0078)

A slide repair project is under way on S.R. 775. Crews will be realigning a portion of the route and correcting the slip area that is situated at the north junction of C.R. 2 (Greasy Ridge Road), approximately four miles south of S.R. 141. During the initial phase, there should be little to no impact to traffic; at all other times, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers. All work should be completed by early summer. (#14-0531)

The Ironton-Russell Bridge replacement project continues, with work being conducted off affected roadways. In addition to localized closures affecting downtown traffic, motorists are advised of equipment entering and exiting the work zone in Ironton and at the U.S. 23 viaduct in Kentucky. (#11-0628)

PIKE COUNTY

MONDAY, MAY 4: A guardrail replacement project is scheduled to begin the week of May 4, and crews will be installing guardrail at various locations on C.R. 85 (Tennyson Road) and C.R. 116 (Beaver Creek Road). Traffic will be maintained by flaggers and arrow boards when crews are at work, and the project is anticipated to be completed in late summer. (#15-0114)

An emergency slide repair project is under way on C.R. 50 (Watson Road), near its junction with C.R. 55 (Hay Hollow Road) and just north of S.R. 335. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one, 10-foot lane with temporary traffic signals. The project is anticipated to be completed in late spring. (#14-0432)

A resurfacing project is under way on U.S. 23, where crews are paving the route from approximately one mile south of S.R. 32 to the southern corporation limit of Waverly, as well as from just north of Waverly to the route’s junction with T.R. 438 (Park Road), approximately one-half mile south of the Ross County line. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction, and all work is scheduled to be completed in early fall. (#14-0482)

ROSS COUNTY

S.R. 772 is closed just north of Liberty Hill Road, approximately two miles south of Chillicothe, for a slide repair project. The closure will be in effect for up to 120 days, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 23, S.R. 104 and S.R. 220 in Pike County. (#14-0572)

SCIOTO COUNTY

S.R. 125 is reduced to one, 11-foot lane between T.R. 102 (Odle Creek Road) and T.R. 1531 (Pine Hill Road), approximately one mile west of its junction with U.S. 52 for an emergency slip repair project. Traffic is being maintained in one lane with the use of temporary signals, and the project is expected to be completed in early summer. (#15-9002)

A dual bridge replacement is under way on S.R. 140 at the 9.22 and the 9.48-mile markers, between C.R. 17 (Frederick Road) and just east of T.R. 294 (Railroad Hollow Road), one mile west of South Webster. Throughout construction, traffic on S.R. 140 will be maintained with the use of temporary signals; however, Frederick Road will be closed for up to 60 days, and motorists will be detoured via T.R. 295 (Haines Road) and C.R. 12 (Bennett School House Road). All work is scheduled to be completed in mid to late fall. (#14-0457)

A culvert replacement project is under way in Shawnee State Forest, where crews will be replacing culverts and headwalls at multiple locations on Forest Roads 4, 6, 13, 16, 18 and 19. Throughout most of the project, traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. However, F.R. 4, 6 and 13 will be subject to intermittent periods of closure at certain locations, with motorists detoured locally. The project is anticipated to be completed in mid-spring. Operations for a bridge replacement are under way on S.R. 73, where crews are replacing the structure at the 1.10–mile marker over Rarden Creek and immediately west of Rarden. Contractors will be constructing a new bridge alongside the existing structure, and during the initial phase of construction, there should be little to no impact to traffic. At all other times, traffic will be maintained in one lane with the use of flaggers and/or temporary signals, and all work should be completed by late summer. (#14-0498)
